CEYLAN

Tea type: black tea
Brand: La Manufacture
How to prepare it: 4-5 minutes, 90°C (195 °F)

Dry scent:
It has really a sweet scent which reminds to honey with a few woody hints.
Liquor's colour:
Dark red.
Liquor's scent:
There is still the same previous background sweetness, but now also some tannins arise. It slightly remembers the licorice.

Taste:
At first it's quite watery: all the flavours arises quite slowly. However, after a little bit, it starts to open, becoming thicker and showing its charateristic sweetness - licorice root -. Then there are some tannins which bring a strong - but not too much - bitterness, balanced by that feeling of sweetness which is always present in this tea. It leaves an astringent aftertaste.

Conclusion:
A simple ceylan tea, maybe a little bit too "shy" at the beginning, but it doesn't disappoint. A good mid-morning/afternoon tea.
My score is: 7/10
